This Island is really a great spot for a holiday if you are okay with spending most your time away from the rush, however the close proximity to the town centre makes is easy to combine both options. You can swim and snorkel to this Post Office and post a special “waterproof post card” to your friends and family! Since the waters around Hideaway Island have been declared a marine sanctuary, they are teeming with marine life and tropical fish. Hideaway Island also has the worlds’ only underwater Post Office located just metres from the beach. Hideaway Island Marine Reserve is an amazing Pacific paradise that will tempt you with its breathtaking beauty and offer something unique to see and enjoy. If you prefer a more relaxing holiday, you can relax on the beach or poolside and enjoy the view of beautiful Mele Bay. Spend your holiday in this great reserve where you can swim, snorkel, and scuba dive, eat, and just basically relax in the water, you can try sailing and beach volleyball, or use Hideaway Island as a convenient base for a myriad of other tours and activities such as game fishing, visiting the Cascade Waterfalls or playing a round of golf. It is a picture perfect tropical island with white sand, crystal clear tropical water and coral beaches surrounded by turquoise blue water. This small coral atoll is a custodian of one of Vanuatu’s only marine sanctuaries, ideal for a more relaxing holiday. A day on the island can be as busy or as quiet as you choose. There is also plenty for the non-diver to do. There are more than 15 dive sites all within 15 minutes of the shore.
